Response of Cotton Genotypes to Water-deficit Stress using Drought Tolerance Indices and Principal Component Analysis

Drought impacts on cotton cultivation and production are expected to worsen as a result of global warming water-deficit stress. tolerance indices PCA analysis were used evaluate drought stress responses in eleven genotypes fifteen indices' ability identify drought-tolerant under normal circumstances. Seed yield (Kentar feddan-1) was significantly affected by genotypes, years, their interaction (p ≤ 0.05 or 0.01) conditions, according combined ANOVA. Except for error variance, all genetic parameters studied seed higher irrigation conditions than conditions. According analysis, The STI, MP, GMP, HM, ATI, SSPI, TOL suitable indicators similar screen, rank detect tolerant due positive correlations among each other also the highest association with both G4, G9, G10 (Group A) seemed be most productive based mean performance, GxY heatmap indices, analysis. results our study's could useful appropriate studying mechanisms improvement Egypt.
